Questions & Answers

Here are several questions I have been asked in the thread mentioned above:

Why is my render taking so long?
The lights are provided with the settings set for optimum quality, thus, the render times increase dramatically, even in simple scenes. To correct this do the following:

  • After selecting UberEnvironment, go into the Parameters tab.
  • Once there, change the value of the Occlusion Samples down from 128 to a lower value.
  • Start out with 32. If it creates grainy and blotchy spots on your render, turn it up to 64.
  • Once at 64, most blotches tend to be eliminated and the render times are normally cut in half.

Another way to fix this is to use the “Set Quality —” found in DAZ Built-In Content:Lights:UberEnvironment 2

Why do I get a 3Delight message #5 (Severity 1) message when I load the lights and render an image?
There is a simple answer for this. The .TIFFs provided with the light set are not generated by the HDRConverter that comes with UberEnvironment 2. It does not affect the renders at all, both in performance and/or quality.
