Danger Pass is a twisting, treacherous, cliff side road that would give a mountain goat vertigo. This set includes two sections of mountains, cliffs and roads. Danger Pass can stand alone or connect with the Thunder River Set.
If you've been looking for a place to drive that sports car, mountain bike, or covered wagon this is the place. This gigantic set piece gives you 1/4 mile of roads perched on nail biting cliffs guaranteed to bring excitement to your renders.
This set is presented as two figures and a rock slide prop. The road surface can be hidden as well as the tunnel's portals for a more primitive setting.
Why does part of the set disappear when it's far from the camera? This is distance clipping and it's easy to fix. There are two settings in your camera properties you've probably never used and may have wondered what they were for. Hither and Yon are Near and Far clipping planes for the preview cameras. This set is big enough that you will likely hit the distant plane, called “Yon” Just set the hither value for the camera up until the entire set remains in view. This only effects the preview window the entire set will always render.
I loaded it, why don't I see it? Look up. Seriously, move the camera up. This set aligns with the Thunder river set so it may load out of view of the camera. The East Pass is up and left. The West pass is up and right.
Why can I see the background color through cracks by the tunnels and along the road? This is called “Displacement Cracking” it is a weakness in the render engine and can be quite annoying. Here's a few ways to fix it easily. First set the background color to be similar to the set. Second (Poser) paste the preview image to the background (Display> Paste on to background). Third, render the scene in preview or OpenGL mode and save that image then render with Firefly or 3Dlight and composite the rendered image over the preview image in your favorite image editor.
