Save valuable time after importing your purchase to Bryce by utilizing the presets in the companion download. Take it a step further: select and change the lights, ambience, textures or camera for a whole new look! The possibilities are endless!

  • Required Products: Temple of the Pharaohs, DAZ Bryce6
  • You can find your new Bryce file in the following folders:
    • DAZ\Bryce6\DAZ Content\DAZ Companion Files” OR “DAZ\Bryce6\DAZ Content\DAZ Companion Files”

Product Notes

Bryce: This great room Bryce Companion file has been created in Bryce 6 and has been tested in Bryce 6.Please refer to the Platinum Club forum thread for this file for information on generic Poser/Bryce import.

This file requires you have set your D|S installation to be able to access your Poser directories, should you have installed your Temple of the Pharaohs set into a Poser Runtime.

Setup

  • Open the Bryce Companion file located in the DAZ Content\DAZ. Companion Files folder. (bcf_ps_ac1736_TemplePharaohs.br6) Because it is an interior scene with no sunlight, the file will load as black.
  • Click the D|S button on the upper right ( some of you may have to click Create first in order to access that particular button)
  • Click the T_Pharaohs file in your T_Pharaohs folder in either Content (Figures) or your Poser (Character) folder in D|S.
  • Go to Props and load !Preload_Props from the T_Pharaohs folder
  • Click the “Return to Bryce” button in the upper right corner
  • Go to the Object menu, and select “Break DAZ|Studio Link”.
  • The next step is optional - but if you like to keep it tidy, like me, click the triangle next to the mountain icon in the left hand side of your screen and select the view from right
  • Zoom out by using the looking glass in the lower right until you see everything. Draw a square around it all with your mouse, and click “G” for group in the little icon list next to the T_Pharaohs set
  • This file should not need any placement out of the box, but should you run into trouble, here are the coordinates for the grouped meshes:
    • Click the “A” in the little icon list next to the T_Pharaohs set
    • Set the attributes like so :
      • You can also just copy (CTRL + C) the numbers (remember the minuses!) from the table and paste them in (CTRL + V) if you're a lazy typist like me ;-) - just remember that in some places you need to swap the comma for a period.

X Axis: 0.0; 0.0; 0; 897,37

Y Axis: 145,53; 145,53; 0; 475,49

Z Axis: 277,69; 277,69; 0; 1167,94

  • Check Locked, so it won't be selected when you continue working - we're going to modify textures only.
  • Go back to director's view
  • Select all the chairs from the Select Meshes menu. Enter the Material editor by clicking M in the icon list, and set the chair something like this (and tweak, tweak, tweak until you're happy :-) )
  • Select all the first two jugs from the Select Meshes menu. Enter the Material editor by clicking M in the icon list, and set them something like this (and again… tweak, tweak, tweak until you're happy :-) )
  • Select all the last two jugs from the Select Meshes menu. Enter the Material editor by clicking M in the icon list, and set them something like this (and yes, the tweak rule applies here too ;-))
  • We'll do this with the vases too:
  • Now we're done with the shiny stuff, you may want to tweak the bumpsetting on the floor and walls.

Scene tip

  • This scene contains a group of spotlights called Chair_Lights, as the four of them illuminate the chairs. Try setting the light colour to a faint blue for a cold, chilly atmoshpere, or to yellow, for a warm, glowy feeling. Try adding a gel for various light effects!
  • Try Selecting the radial light, unlock it, and play with it's brightness and volume settings for even greater variety in your image

Cameras

  • This scene contains a several camera settings, ranging from closeup of a chair to right in front of the entrance. Tweak light and angles to your liking :-)

Finally: Please don't hesitate to ask any one of us on the BCF-team or PC forum for help with the file :-)
