Macintosh®

  • To install Carrara, double click on the “Carrara 6 Pro Installer” icon, which will launch the installer and guide you through the installation.

Windows®

  • To install Carrara, double click on the “Setup.exe” icon in the Carrara 6 Pro folder, which will launch the installer and guide you through the installation.

Known Issues

  • Adding displacement from the Texture Room onto an infinite plane will turn it into a normal plane.
  • There is no progress bar when loading poses onto a figure / into a scene.
  • Reverse Polygons Normal does not respond to Undo.
  • Objects colliding with the ocean primitive using physics do not behave as expected.
  • Attaching a magnet deformer to an ocean primitive will turn it into a vertex object.
  • Doing a boolean operation on a vertex object will cause it to lose its creasing information.
  • Test renders in the vertex modeler do not disappear until you click on them.
  • Shadow buffers do not always produce a shadow onto infinite planes.
  • Physics simulation ignores parent/child relationships, constraints, and IK.
  • There is no way to Drag and Drop a completed render from the Render Room to the Artwork Tab.
  • Subdivision properties disappear when multiple meshes are selected in the Vertex Modeler.
  • The brightness of a realistic sky is affected by the amount of cloud layers in an unexpected manner.
  • Water imported through the landscape wizard are too small in comparison to the terrain.
  • The shadow of a hair does not match with the hair’s width.
  • Hair dynamics simulations always produces motion.
  • The “Show Object in 3D View” checkbox is ignored in animation when applied to a group.
