Below Deck is an interior ship setting, constructed of multiple removable (hideable) objects to allow for the best camera angles for your render.

Multiple Parts for Ease of Camera Access

Figure 1 and 2 show the full preload, as well as the multiple individual parts that can be separately loaded or hidden/deleted.

General Instructions for Use

The quickest way to start is to use the .cr2 preset (A-Preload.cr2) and turn off visibility to the walls/doors/portholes required to allow your desired camera viewpoint.

All the individual parts are also included as separate props (.pp2 files) so you can load just a small part of the scene if required.

Important note about the piping trough

As the piping trough and the pipes in it are below the level of Poser's “ground” object, you will need to turn off visibility and shadows for the “ground” object to see the pipes and trough.


What is the "Hat"?

Good question. The “Hat” is the L-shaped set of walls and ceiling that sit on top of the ceiling prop - meant as a 3D backdrop to allow a low-to-high angle camera viewpoint looking up the staircase. It will also allow placement of lighting at the top of the stairwell, generating some interesting shadows and lighting effects. As for the actual name of the part, couldn't think of a better name than “hat”!

Using the "Grate" prop

The “Grate” props is the only object not part of the preload. It will load in position in the piping trough on the floor, opposite from the vertical piping prop. You can then slide it in position, creating multiple copies to fill up the piping trough or simply position them loosely about the set.
