The “Illuminations” Historical Design Pack is finally here! From the Middle Ages, through the 15th Century Renaissance, all the way to Late Antiquity, most illuminated manuscripts were reserved for religious texts or for secular works owned by the very wealthy, such as Bible, Psalters, and the Book of Hours. Some even date back as far as 400 AD. Written on parchment, vellum and even papyrus, these texts were made sumptuously beautiful by the addition of intricately-painted ornamentation, such as decorated initials, borders and miniature illustrations, usually “illuminated” with silver or gold. Pigments for the paints took the form of costly verdigris, lapis lazuli, malachite, ivory and more.
My mother's hand-drawn illuminated letters were the inspiration for this 45-pc historical design resource, as well as a fascination with the incredible detail of the artwork of this period of history.
And now…we share them with you, transformed into an entire collection of beautiful design pieces! High-resolution print-quality decorative elements and papers ideal for scrapbooking, postwork, and any other project that needs a Medieval, Renaissance or very memorable formal look. All files are 300 DPI PNG or JPEG format ready for print.
Includes Zai's Photoshop User Guide, a tutorial for maximizing variation using the “Color Magic” features built into the “Illuminations” Historical Design Pack.
