Zed Hair by AprilYSH is a poly modelled and articulated hair figure available at

The hair comes in obj format with jpg colour, bump and transparency maps useable in many 3d applications. The package comes with Poser and DAZ|Studio presets with morphs and material presets included.

The preset fits are for DAZ3d Hiro 4, Michael 4, Girl 4, Victoria 4, Aiko 4, Michael 3, Hiro 3, Victoria 3, Aiko 3, David 3, Stephanie Petite 3, Luke, Laura, Matt, Maddie, Millennium Baby 3 and Apollo Maximus

Poser Instructions

In Poser content browser, you will find the items in:
Figures > AprilYSH > AprilZed
Pose > AprilYSH > AprilZed

To use the hair:

  1. Load your human figure
  2. Load the hair
  3. Apply fit pose for your human figure 54)
  4. Use custom fit dials if you have customised your base figure. For example, if you have Aiko with Realistic set to 0.6 then set the hair's Realistic dial also to 0.6
  5. Parent hair to figure's head
  6. Apply materials and/or modify them for your own use.


DAZ|Studio Instructions

There is no separate DAZ Studio installer for these Presets. DAZ Studio will automatically apply the DAZ Studio version of the Materials Presets, giving you the correct DAZ Studio look.

Please refer to the Poser instructions as the usage of this item is the same in DAZ|Studio.

Easyposing

Useage Tips

  1. The 'hair' bodypart contains the morphs and controls
  2. The right and left fringes (bangs) contain drape and lift morphs
  3. You can easily change hair colours by selecting your own diffuse colour settings for the hair.
  4. After posing, use the morph dials in the 'hair' bodypart to ensure fitting.
  5. Use the head morphforms in the 'hair' bodypart to align the bulk of the hair with your character's head pose. headTwist corresponds to the figure's head twist around the y axis, and so on for headSideSide and headBend.
  6. In DS, try subdivision render level 2 for best results.
  7. Requires Poser 6 or higher for length changing mat pz2s to apply. Poser 6 requires the python scripts installed in the main runtime to prevent warning error message. Poser 7 does not get this warning message. Both Poser 6 and 7 will apply the mat change regardless.
  8. The spiral dials limits in the 'hair' bodypart prevent the long version of the hair from folding into itself. However you may turn off limits at any time, particularly when using medium and short versions of the hair.
  9. In Poser, the long, medium and short presets will only apply the corresponding transmap if you have first applied a transmapped mat pose. It won't apply a transmap if you are using the all red posing mat.
  10. Poser 6 and 7 don't update the preview of the transmap unless you go to the material room and view each material zone. However, the render will correctly use the transmap.
