Product Information

  • Required Products: None

Portia Hair 2 is fitted for Genesis and Genesis 2 Female(s) (.DUF and .CR2) and includes a sub-divided preset*. Custom fits are included for the major DAZ 3D models - such as Victoria 6, Victoria 5, Aiko 5, etc., which allows you to mix them together to make your own custom character (ex. Aiko4=0.3 plus Aiko5=0.3).

Various texture map colors are included in this 3D graphic design, plus diffuse color setting samples. The diffuse color samples show how you can easily create your own tints by changing the diffuse color of the hair.

Note: For Genesis figures in Poser, this product is compatible via the DSON Importer for Poser.

* This model is an optimized 18.5k quads with an already smooth base resolution, though you may use the SubD version for close-up renders. As SubD takes longer to render, only use if blockiness is obvious at high morph values.

Additional Details

  • SubD version:
    • This model is an optimised 18.5k quads with an already smooth base resolution, though you may use the SubD version for close-up renders. As SubD takes longer to render, only use if blockiness is obvious.
    • In DAZ Studio -
      • Intermittent issue in DAZ Studio 4.6 - sometimes if you load the base resolution version first, then load a subd version, the Resulution Level is not set to High Resolution as intended, so please switch this back on by selecting the item and go to the Parameters Pane/Tab > General > Resulution Level.
  • To turn any figure into SubD, select the figure, go to menu Edit > Figure > Geometry > Convert to SubD. Select Resolution Level
    • In DSON Importer for Poser -
      • SubD figures load with a white outline Poser.
      • You can turn SubD off or back on in Poser Scripts Menu > DSON Support.
      • You can't turn SubD on for the non-SubD version, you must load the SubD version.
  • To use the hair:
    • Load your human figure, make sure it remains selected!
    • Load the hair.
    • Use hair's custom fit dials if necessary to fit your custom character's head, such as hairline, crownSize and temples.
    • Apply preset materials and/or modify them for your own use.
    • Dial style and movement morphs.
  • Useage Tips:
    • You can easily modify hair colours by selecting your own diffuse colour settings for the hair.
    • After posing, use the style and movement morph dials to match you figure's pose and also ensure fitting.
    • You need at least one light in the scene that will provide the specular highlighting!
    • If the highlights are too strong or too weak, I recommend you turn the specular/highlight colour to a darker grey or lighter grey as needed, no need to mess with the highlight size or roughness/glossiness.
