Presented in high resolution and as historically as accurate as possible, Fafnir is a painstakingly researched 3D Viking dragon ship that seats 20 stalwart warriors and shield maidens. The sails of Drakkar ships are often interpreted as striped, however this was a mistake made centuries ago by an illustrator monk. Drawings and actual sail remains indicate that the sails were handwoven of wool or flax in diamonds that where then dyed with madder root, and edged and joined with red dyed leather for strength. The sails of the Fafnir - a mythic Norse dragon - bear an applique of Fafnir dyed blue with woad. The hull of the boat was made of the strongest oak with carved details here and there, ensuring the good will of the deities of the Aesir. The high resolution with which these textures have been crafted will support your need for close-ups of seafaring Vikings warriors and shield maidens, and look stunning in distant seascapes.
