Installation Packages

Not all installation packages provide files that are displayed to the user within the interface of an application. The packages listed below, do. The application(s), and the location(s) within each application, are shown below.

Additional Details

  • INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
    • Winzip Installation:
      1. If you are using WinZip, simply extract to your primary hard disk (C:\).
      2. Make sure that the option “Use Folder Names” is selected.
    • Manual Installation:
      1. Copy all the LWO files to \Dystopia\City Blocks\
      2. Copy all the JPG files to \Dystopia\Textures\
      3. Open the LWO models in LightWave 3D, in either the Layout or the Modeler module.
      4. You will be prompted to correct the broken links to the appropriate textures.
      5. Re-link the textures to the appropriate LWO files, and re-save all the LWO models overwriting the previously installed versions.
  • INSTRUCTIONS ON USE:
    • Load the desired Dystopia™ City Blocks into LightWave 3D Layout.
    • Position the blocks as required by your scene.
    • Render.
  • It is intended to be used as a low polygon background prop, to supplement more complex scenes with more detailed models. It was built in a futuristic style, and was inspired by the works of Fritz Lang, Syd Mead, Frank Lloyd Wright, Santiago Calatrava, Renzo Piano and Walter Reimann.
  • Dystopia is a humble tribute to the genius of these men.
  • This free pack offers the first ten city blocks (001-010) of the 100 City Block Series of Dystopia in a LWO version, compatible with LightWave 3D 7.0b/7.5b and up only.
  • These models are in the LWO format of LightWave 3D, version 7.0b/7.5b or later only, so you will definitely need to purchase NewTek's LightWave 3D to make use of these models.
  • All of these models are optimized to have a low polygon count to use system resources efficiently.
