The arming sword is the blade that helped forge Europe as we know it. From the Viking svert, to the cut and thrust, it has been the side arm and backup weapon for everyone from travellers to pikemen.

It is smaller than the war swords preferred by later period, heavily armored knights, and often paired with a shield. Whether a simple, basic sword for a city guard, or a fancy blade for an Elven noble, these weapons (propped to the Genesis 8 Male) can help keep a society civil.
