This video tutorial is going over advanced theories and concepts when it comes to hard edged rigs inside of Daz Studio. The ideas presented are then fleshed out on a real figure, I’ll be using my Baja Raptor as an example as I work through the before, during and after of this rig. Even though I’m using a complex vehicle suspension as our example the concepts can be directly applied to any hard edged mechanical figure.

Hierarchical concepts by design are simple enough but implementing those ideas to an actual figure can quickly become difficult. When you look at a project as a whole it is completely overwhelming, but as I show you my ideas for breaking everything down you quickly begin to grasp the concepts.

Theories and concepts like this can be difficult for anyone to learn, that’s why I present the content from a couple of different angles. Even though you are looking at the same ideas sometimes viewing these ideas though different colored glasses helps. Maybe you understand 30% from these glasses, then you put on another pair of glasses and understand 30% more, and then you try on one more pair and suddenly your dark room slowly starts to become brighter and brighter until you can finally see!

So come learn from the easy confident style of Dark Edge Design and become a rigging master!
