Surface Selection Tool
This tool allows you to select a surface in the viewport. All geometry belonging to a given surface is highlighted as you hover your cursor over any portion of that surface. Holding down the Ctrl/Cmd key while you select will toggle whether a surface is selected, so you can add to or remove from the set of currently selected surfaces.
