Adding Pages to the Wiki

Please note that you cannot edit a start page.

Creating a New Category Page

To create a new category page:

On the page where you want to add a new category, click on edit this page at the top of the page or on the [edit] link at the bottom of a section on that page, for example, to add a page for a 3D modeling program, go to the main tutorials page, then down to the Modeling/3D Software section, and click on [edit]
Find the location in the current category listing where you want to add the new category. Please keep the categories in alphabetical order.
Add a link to the new category as shown below, the period and colon indicate a new directory while tutorials indicates the main tutorial page name for the category:

Original:

* [[artzone:pub:tutorials:paintshop:tutorials|Paint Shop Pro]] * [[artzone:pub:tutorials:photoshop:tutorials|Photoshop]] * [[artzone:pub:tutorials:dogwaffle:tutorials|Project Dogwaffle]]

New Category added:

* [[artzone:pub:tutorials:painter:tutorials|Painter]] * [[artzone:pub:tutorials:paintshop:tutorials|Paint Shop Pro]] * [[artzone:pub:tutorials:photoshop:tutorials|Photoshop]] * [[artzone:pub:tutorials:dogwaffle:tutorials|Project Dogwaffle]]

Please note that the main tutorial page for a category must be named tutorials to keep the sections consistent. The pipe symbol indicates the name you want the user to see on the page follows the pipe.
Click on the Save button. The page will come back up with the new link in red.
Click on the link. A page will come up saying that it doesn't yet exist.
Click on the create this page tab. The page will be created and the edit field will activate.
Enter a title by clicking on the H1 button and typing the page name.

Creating a New Tutorial Page

Create a new category page as shown above or access a category page that already exists.
Click on the edit this page tab and locate where you want to add the new tutorial (in the correction section and alphabetically). Add additional sub-headers if needed.
Add a new tutorial page similar to how you added the category page, but without the colons, for example:  * [[aiming_camera|Aiming the Camera]]  Which indicates that you want a new page called “aiming_camera” but you want the user to see “Aiming the Camera” indicated by the pipe symbol between the two names.
Click on the Save button. The page will come back up with the new link in red.
Click on the link. A page will come up saying that it doesn't yet exist.
Click on the create this page tab. The page will be created and the edit field will activate.
Copy the tutorial template linked to below and paste into your new tutorial page.
Modify the first header to the name of your tutorial and add/remove sub-headers as needed.
Enter and format text as needed. See link to the Wiki Manual in the left-hand menu for information on formatting if needed.
Upload images and support files as needed by first moving the cursor to where you want the image/file to be added and left-clicking on the mouse, then clicking on the picture frame icon in the editor. Once the image/file is uploaded, click on it and it will automatically be added to the wiki where you placed the cursor.

Tutorial Template

You do not have to use this format, but it is encouraged.

To get the code for this template, click on the link below, then on the edit this page link at the top of the page, press Ctrl+A to select all the code, then Ctrl+C to copy it. Paste the code (Ctrl+V) on your tutorial page.

Use the DokuWiki code in your tutorial. Do not use HTML unless you are linking to something like a video tutorial on YouTube, etc.

DAZ 3D encourages you to upload your tutorials here to the ArtZone Wiki so that they have a permanent home and are hosted on our servers. If you do upload your tutorials, please add them to the appropriate software category and create sub-pages/categories as needed. If, for some reason, you do not want to host your tutorials here, please add links to external tutorials in the appropriate categories as well.

NOTE: We are still in the process of transferring over the DAZ Tutorial Arcana tutorials to the DokuWiki format. Until we are finished, if you are not finding the tutorial that you are looking for, please feel free to browse for it at the DAZ Tutorial Arcana
