Specific units are assumed when using the DSON file format. Any importer or exporter of the format must convert to and from these units from whatever internal units the application uses. Floating-point units for each of length, angle, and time are:

• Length: centimeters
• Angle: degrees
• Time: seconds

In addition, the format assumes that all coordinate systems are right-handed and that world coordinate systems are Y-up (i.e. gravity acts in the negative-Y direction).
