By leveraging the capabilities of both ZBrush and Substance Designer using a method popular with AAA game studio artists, the Skull and Bones Iray Shaders brings a unique type of shader that works by using 16-bit height maps to push the geometry outwards to give even simple pieces of geometry like a Daz cylinder or plane, for example, a defined sculpted look. You can even create an entire room or scene with just some divided planes as shown in the promotional images. Best results are achieved using meshes with UVs and relatively even-sized quad geometry, an included 5-page .PDF manual explains best practices and tips to get the best results with these Skull and Bones shaders.
As geometry that uses height maps is Sub-divided at render time, more resources are needed than a typical low poly mesh, so for those with older systems or who just need snappier performance in the viewport, I have created AO or Ambient Occlusion versions that do not use height maps to move the geometry but instead use an AO map to simulate depth and in many cases can look just as good as the height map versions. Included are also many useful utilities for tiling or Subdividing your mesh for greater detail at render time. Six wallpapers are also included for spooky indoor home set design.
