Product Information

Curiosities: Objects that arouse interest by being novel, rare, strange or extraordinary.

In 1841 P.T. Barnum opened his American Museum, a precursor to the Natural History Museums we are familiar with today. His museum was limited to what he could find, create or miss label but our museums don't have those limitations.

This prop set was created so that you can build your own museum of curiosities. It includes 3 cases that can be morphed to fit a wide variety of objects, 3 large platforms that are also morph-able as are the 2 shadow boxes. The set also includes a bench, signs, and a guide ropes.

For even more flexibility there is a full set of wooden material presets. 10 paint shaders to give you even more options and let you blend in other props or primitives to stage your curiosities. There are also 10 velvets for the rope and the top of the inside of the cases so that you can pick the perfect color to highlight your collection.

I have also included 3 light sets so that you can have the same lighting I used in my promotional images.

Additional Details

  • Props will load with black paint. If you want to use the wooden materials they are located in materials. Care should be taken with the wooden materials not to over morph and stretch the textures. Be sure to select the object in the scene and apply the correct preset for it when using materials. When using the paint or velvet shaders be sure that you have selected both the object and the surface before applying. The easiest way to do that is with the surface selection tool. However, you will need to select surfaces that are behind or inside glass via the surface tab.
  • The lights have been saved as scene subsets and will not remove other lights you may already have in the scene. Be sure to delete any pre-existing lights before or after you load these. There is a “sun” light in the light sets that is turned off. If you want lights to shine through an overhead window then turn it on for the sunlight effect. Other wise simply leave it off.
