Additional Details

  • USE:
    • RENDERING:
      • For best possible results use 'Smooth Polygons' in your final render settings.
    • I strongly recommend subdividing at least once for best results. Failure to do so for up close renders will result in some sharp angles in the curves of the hair.
    • In order to add SubD levels in Poser, users will have to go to 'Figure', 'Skinning Method' and change it from Poser Traditional to 'Poser Unimesh'. This will create a subdivision setting in the figure's properties. I do not recommend higher than a subdivision of 1.
    • Daz Studio has the hair set to SubD 1 by default.
    • This hair relies upon shine and rendering to produce the fullness, rendering in default or poorly lit conditions and/or low or medium quality renders, may produce patchiness or spots that look thin and unattractive.
    • For background characters at a distance, I recommend setting the Base and Hair layers to solid by removing the transmap and setting the Opacity to 1 or Transparency to 0, then setting the cross strands and strands to Opacity 0 or Transparency 1 with no transparency. This will speed up your renders without the hair going fuzzy at long distance due to texture sampling.
    • Filter vs No Filter Mats:
      • There are 2 versions of the mats included. Some earlier versions of poser when the Texture Filter was turned on and the character was rendered from a distance, the hair textures would blur together causing the hair to seem to disappear on the transmap. The No-Filter version is for these versions of Poser. More recent versions of Poser, not turning on the texture filter can result in grainy hair renders that are unattractive at some ranges. These more recent versions of Poser should use the 'Filter' or default versions.
    • MORPH SUPPORT:
      • Not ALL morphs are specifically supported by this product. The hair is fluffy enough that most morphs shouldn't require specific support. The Genesis 2 Male and Genesis 3 Male morphs should auto fit relatively well to most facial morphs. 'Fit' morphs are included to allow for fine tuning.
    • For Genesis 2 Male and Genesis 3 Male versions of this hair, the hair is set up with a 'Scalp' layer that conforms to the character, and a 'Hair' layer that conforms to the scalp. The master morph dials of these are found in the Body of the 'Scalp' portion, however the layers can be individually driven for added fit capacity. Due this being in 2 layers, you will need to select both the scalp and the hair when applying mats.
    • Posing:
      • THIS HAIR IS NOT AUTO CONFORMING!!!!!!
        • Let me be clear, it will conform to the head movements but the 'hair' is created to give the user the maximum flexibility and smoothness. Auto conforming when tried, resulted in pinches, crushed curls and general unattractiveness.
      • To use this hair follow these steps:
        • 1) Pose your figure.
        • 2) Select the Hair (the actual hair is a selectable joint) and bend/twist/side to fit the neck loosely. Don't worry about exactly yet.
        • 3) Select the Left and Right Side to adjust around the neck and face as needed. (view the hiearchy or drop down beneath Hair for all joints)
        • 4) Select the Left and Right Front and Cheeks to adjust around the cheeks and face as needed.
        • 5) Select the Left and Right HairCollars (not Collars, there are handles there above the collars) and adjust around the collar/shoulder area.
        • 6) Select the Left and Right Back to adjust around the back of the neck.
        • 7) Go to the Body or the Hair and adjust the 'Fit'dials to fine tune.
    • UNRESPONSIVE DIALS: In earlier versions of Poser and Daz Studio, users could manually adjust the morphs on a conforming figure. In these earlier versions of Poser, unhiding dials was an absolute pain in the butt, so to allow users the option to manually control these dials if they choose, they were left exposed. More recent versions of Poser and Daz Studio completely lock out the user from these dials and Daz Studio has gone so far as to hide the dials automatically when there is a matching dial in the conformer. This forces the user to only use the dials in the figure to drive these morphs.
    • Daz Studio MATERIAL PRESETS:
      • The materials are created for use in Daz Studio 4.5 and were crafted using the UberSurface2.
      • The materials found in the IRAY folder are only for use with the 4.8 and higher using the IRAY render engine.
      • Neither of these will not work for DS3.
      • These materials are located in the Poser Library structure under 'Materials'.
    • POSER MATERIAL POSES:
      • The materials are shader based mats and require the Firefly render engine in Poser 6 and above to function.
