Presenting Bea and Nancy's Whatnots 2!

Whatnots: item or items that are not identified but are felt to have something in common.

Fill your scenes with our beautiful whatnots, chotchkies, jars and vases by applying your choice of luscious colors from the large selection of shader presets.

This pack includes:
15 static props, 52 art glass Iray shader presets, 52 glazed pottery Iray shader presets, 52 unglazed pottery Iray shader presets, 52 lustre Iray shader presets, 25 metal Iray shader presets, 10 miscellaneous shader presets, 54 one-click textures and 14 bump utility files.
The beautiful, all new, gradient jpg files are what make this product unique. The shader presets are not just re-colors but have individual gradient variations that create different looks depending on what objects they are applied to and the lighting in your scene. This gives each material a different look on different objects for ultimate versatility.
All prop smart parented lids are removable and can be manipulated.
The promotional images show all the props included, test renders of the glazed pottery material, the art glass material, the unglazed pottery material, the lustre material, one-click material, untextured props and some of the available utility files.
This set has 54 one-click material presets. These include complete textures for each prop and its smart parented lid, if it has one. These one-click materials can only be used on their respective props as they are material presets and hierarchical material presets.

The shader presets can also be used on clothing, jewelry, gems, people and other props not included in this set. Your imagination is all that is needed.
The props are easily scaled by using the scale dial in the parameter tab.
The lighting and environment map that you choose will greatly affect the look and versatility of the shader presets. Adding a bump map to a material with the bump utilities will give an even great choice of design.

Additional Details

  • These shader presets do not affect any bump settings that may be applied to the props. You can apply a bump choice from the BGW Utilities folder then try different shader presets on your prop without it affecting the bump. To remove a bump map from your prop use the Remove Bump utility in the BGW Utilities folder.
  • To use a shader preset load a prop into the scene. Select your prop in the scene tab then open the Surfaces tab and highlight your selected prop's material zone. For props that have more than one material zone you can apply one shader preset to all zones at once by highlighting all of the material zones at the same time by selecting them while holding down the CTRL key, You can also choose to apply a different shader preset to each material zone by selecting one zone at a time.
  • One-click materials are not shader presets and affect only the prop that they were created for. Any prop that has a smart-parented lid has materials that are hierarchical and apply to both the base and the lid at the same time if they are in the scene at the same time and the base is selected in the scene tab.
  • To ensure that a prop's lid is smart parented to it load the base prop into the scene and select it in the scene tab. Then load in its corresponding lid. the lid will then be parented to the prop. To apply a shader preset or material select the base prop.
  • All of the props load in with a base plain shader preset. Applying this base shader to any prop will remove all bump maps and gradient images.
  • Important Notice and Instructions:
    • There is a known bug in Daz Studio versions before Daz Studio version 4.9.3. Any image editor information will revert back to default when any other preset is applied, even ones that should not affect the modified parameters.
    • To make changes to the bump map tiling using the Image Editor go to your Surfaces tab and highlight your material. Scroll down to Base Bump and click on the small triangle on the left side of the slider to expand the options. Choose Image Editor and a pop up window will open. Click on the Instance Tiling tab to expand it.
    • If you do not see an Instance Tiling tab then instead scroll down to the bottom of the surface information to find vertical and horizontal tiling sliders. Use these to change the size of your bump map.
