Additional Details

  • Tips:
  • Avoid Collisions, make sure the hair isn't intersecting any bodyparts or clothing or any other object on your start frame.
  • There are several ways to fix intersections:
  • - Use the Adjustment Morphs or the Moves to fix intersection.
  • - Twist, bend or side-side the head or neck slightly.
  • - Make a timeline setup with a tiny bend for example in the neck on the initial frame and 20 frames further the final pose.
  • - You can also hide bodyparts in your scene tab, so they will not influence your simulation, for example fingers.

  • Parameters > Actor > Morphs:
  • As a general rule all Morphs need to be dialed before the simulation.

  • - Adjustments
  • There are 2 kinds of adjustment dials, the Back Up, Left/Right Up are morphs to fix intersections on the initial frame.
  • The Front Wide and Offset Ears/Front/Front Forward/Neck Morphs give the ability to move the roots further inside the head or away.

  • - Moves
  • All the Move dials have an equivalent preset in the Content Library Starter Shapes Presets Folder.
  • These presets/move morphs, can be used one at a time to setup a initial start shape.

  • - Styles
  • The Air/Longer/Shorter/Thicker/Thinner Styles need to be dialed *before* the simulation.
  • The Roots Bigger/Smaller/Tips Straight/Tips Wide can have good results after simulation aswell.
  • Not all dial combinations give predictable results when mixed.
  • Note that the Moves dials cannot be combined with the Air/Longer/Shorter Styles.

  • To use a time line setup has several advantages.
  • - You can pick any frame for your still render in the simulated range.
  • - You can animate.
  • - You have additional control over the hair when rotating the hip of the figure for example to use the gravity in your advantage to achieve custom shapes.
  • Change the duration from current frame to animated use timeline play range to activate the timeline. (or use the included simulation presets)
  • Stop the simulation at any time and use that shape to export an OBJ and use morphloaderpro to import that custom shape as a morph. (check reverse deformation)
  • Hide figure and clothing only have hair visible for export.
  • Stop the simulation at any time if you like the shape for your still render. (for example wind and movement)
  • Render current frame are for still renders with only one frame.
  • Start Bones from memorized pose is off.
  • Note that not every chosen morph combination gives a good result.
  • Not all Style Morphs go well with dialed Moves Morphs, the Longer/Shorter Morph for example combined with Moves Morphs can give unexpected results.
  • You need to set the priority if the Style is more important or the Moves.
  • Note that Moves Shapes can be achieved with a timeline setup, for example all hair UP, can be simulated when the hip is turned 180 degrees.
  • Style Morphs cannot be achieved through timeline setups.
