Product Information

Before Lyrra Madril's Squishy Human for Genesis 8 and 8.1 Females and Males came out, it was hard to get realistic soft body collision poses for the Genesis 8 and 8.1 figures. You had poke-throughs and clothing getting sucked up into the figure's mesh whenever you tried to get two figures to be in close contact. If you managed to get the pose looking realistic, you inevitably had to do some dFormer magic or resort to postwork in a paint program.

But now, you can let your Genesis 8 and 8.1 figures get nice and close with FF's Moments Poses, which have been designed specifically for use with the Squishy Human figures. In standard poses, tolerances needed to be built in to accommodate for clothing and potential mesh intersecting, but with FF's Moments Poses, the figures' meshes are deliberately touching to create a realistic fleshy response when using dForce.

In this collection of two-person vignette poses, there are 4 evocative “moments” that have been tailored for the Squishy Humans, as well as covering a variety of personal interactions to tell your visual stories: female/female, female/male, male/female, and male/male. In addition, there are included accompanying Animated Timeline Poses to facilitate the use of dForce. These are poses that have been laid out along the animation timeline to move body parts to maximize the Squishy Human interaction while minimizing the potential of the dreaded dForce “exploding mesh” syndrome. As a bonus, included in this set is a simulations settings preset to take the worry and fuss out of trying to dial in that perfect simulation, as well as quick tutorial on how to use the Animated Timeline Poses. (Psst! The Animated Timeline Poses can also be used when simulating dForce clothing. The bones along the animation timeline may need some adjusting as the poses weren't tailored to any specific outfit, but they should be a good starting point for your simulations.)

Also note that while these poses were designed specifically for the Squishy Human's ability to adjust and move with dForce, you CAN use them with the standard Genesis 8 and 8.1 Female and Male figures — you just might need to adjust the poses for poke through and other assorted dangers from smoothing modifiers. My suggestion is to pick up a copy of both the Squishy Female and Squishy Male Humans and not worry about it.

As always, FeralFey poses are fact-checked for gravity, balance, and realism.

Additional Details

  • The poses in this set are meant to have some areas of intersection with the mesh, as the purpose of the Squishy Human products is to create a lifelike, pliable figure. As such, tolerances for spacing for outfits and other prop or figure meshes are not present in these poses. You can use these poses with the standard Genesis 8/8.1 male and female figures, but be forewarned that there is potential for the need to adjust the poses, to employ the use of dFormers, or to resort to postwork.
  • Included in this set is a PDF tutorial on how to make the best use of the Animated Timeline poses, as well as a simulation settings preset that will give the best dforce simulation for a neutral environment. To add wind and gravity effects, the settings will need to be changed.
