The dull “Iray eye” problem is well-known to those experienced with rendering characters in the Iray engine. Even with great-looking textures, if a character isn't facing straight forward near a bright light, it's all too easy for eyes to come out looking flat and dry. SY Eye Bright Fixer Genesis 8 and 8.1 aims to fix that using easy fast-click settings for the iris and sclera and a special geoshell layer to improve reflectivity and sheen, imparting a wetter and more realistic look to the eyes of Genesis 8 and 8.1 characters. A special normal map for the iris is included as well to make things even better in close-up shots. Get brighter eyes in Iray today!

A note on the lighting, for those interested:

The scenes that are before/after eye closeups are lit only with the default scene HDRI with the camera's headlamp turned off. The others are lit with one spotlight set to disc and a height and width of 20, default temperature of 6500K, and in these scenes, the HDRI in the Environment tab of Render Settings has been turned down to 0.10. All of these promos were rendered in Iray with postwork for compositing canvases and adding vignetting only. Lighting has not been adjusted or post worked.
