Product Information

Genetically engineered spies or fantastic beings, cartoonish chums or kooky pilots, let these leporine folk hop into your renders!

Featuring dForce hair, posable prop tail and ears, and a variety of shapes that can be combined in many ways, Oso Rabbitfolk for Genesis 9 is a versatile anthropomorphic addition to your collection.

The head shape is divided between the Oso Rabbitfolk head and Oso Rabbitfolk face. This gives a flexible ability to create a look starting with a person with a rabbit face (face 100%), and then dial in head to shift toward a more animal-like appearance.

Note that the combination ends up with a rather small head, so Oso Rabbitfolk Head and Neck Proportions should also be dialed in. Alternatively, proportions head size and proportions neck length can be individually set to taste.

The ears are made as floating posable props. This choice gives the user amazing flexibility in how the ears are oriented or placed.

Extend Upper Central Incisors can dial in the long teeth typical of many humanoid rabbits, while the Expand Submental Triangle can fix problems that can arise when some unusual expressions cause clipping with the mouth.

Additional Details

  • The material presets will set everything on the figure. To only change some surfaces, select the items and surfaces, then ctrl-click the preset and change Surfaces: All to Surfaces: Selected.
  • Fur Scale is set to 500% on the body fur. This can be trimmed down to 300% comfortably, or expanded a bit. The Trim style is longer on the hands and feet than the core body, while the default style is more even.
  • Default Fur Quality is Medium. One figure can be bumped to Extreme on many cards without problem. Multiple Extreme or Apex quality figures may cause serious slowdowns, but it depends on the scene.
  • Reduced Fur Quality is probably sufficient for distant shots or for machines struggling to render fur.
  • To adjust fur under clothing, one can create PR scale maps based on Ambient Occlusion. That is, parts of the surface covered by clothing are darker, scaling down the fur. Such maps are very specific to a given outfit, however, and is a project for skilled/experienced users.
  • Otherwise, a fairly trim fur and pushing clothing out is the second best option.
  • Finally, compositing renders with and without fur may work in some circumstances.
