Product Information

Fisio SB is the Soft Bodies Physics Simulation AddOn for Fisio, the Physics Simulator.

The main features of Fisio SB are:

Soft or deformable bodies are those that get deformed under the action of forces.
Any close-geometry prop or figure can participate in the simulation as a soft or deformable body.
There is no limit to the number of bodies in simulation, other than the computer's memory.
The bodies can be subjected to animatable gravity and pressure points, and also to damping, point, directional, torque, oscillatory, or wind-type forces. Soft bodies can interact with rigid bodies.
The motion of the soft bodies can be constrained by using links between them or with rigid bodies.
Like in the natural world, a body can be defined by its material and its shape.
The physical material nodes are the same as the ones in the Fisio core plugins, with some more properties exposed.

It can simulate four models of deformable bodies:
a) Springs: The most common; it works as a spring network. Useful for tissues, sheets, or hollow bodies.
b) Shell: It can simulate a great variety of body types but is the most appropriate for hollow bodies.
c) Cable: It works with rigged nodes to simulate cables and wires.
d) Tetrahedra: This is more appropriate for solid bodies.

Installation Packages

Below is a list of the installation package types provided by this product. The name of each package contains a Package Qualifier, which is used as a key to indicate something about the contents of that package.

  • 3 Core 1)

[ ] = Optional, depending on target application(s)

Not all installation packages provide files that are displayed to the user within the interface of an application. The packages listed below, do. The application(s), and the location(s) within each application, are shown below.

Resolved Issues

  • 2024-10-04 Not for Apple Silicone or MacOs 12.7 and lower product updated
    • 1. Planes and other objects couldn't be rotated before a simulation because the results were odd.
    • 2. The tetrahedra-type objects behaved as very heavy objects. Now they correctly represent the weight determined by their Material density.
    • 3. The tetrahedra-type objects trajectories weren’t deterministic due to the internal creation of the tetrahedra (each simulation running gave different trajectories). Now their trajectories are completely deterministic.
    • 4. Cable-type objects were very limited and only allowed linear skeletons (like tails), and sometimes with weird results. Now they can be ramified partial skeletons like limbs of figures (Only selected bones).
    • 5. MacOs couldn't load the engine.
    • Now there is a new method (the number 5, ONLY WINDOWS), which is very efficient for most situations using Non-Smooth-Contacts (Cable, however, works better in Smooth Contacts system type). It works fine with links.
    • The Cable type has a new property: Rotation limits, with three options: Do not alter, Disable limits, and Enable limits. Previously, the limits were always disabled. Now, they can be enabled, or left as they are.
    • The Tetrahedra-type has a new property: Seed, this property allows changing the geometric configuration of the bodies to get a slightly different trajectory, but deterministic anyway.
    • The manual is updated.
  • 2023-07-20 Product updated to correct issue with not showing in DIM
  • 2023-08-18 What’s new in version 1.0.1
    • Now, the soft bodies can be animated using keyframes (for positions, rotations, bone rotations, and morphs) AFTER running the simulation. The vertices are not fixed to the world space of the scene anymore. In the case of the Tetrahedra model, however, it is required to redo the old simulations. Scaling can be animated only to some extent because the soft body deformations do not scale uniformly.
    • Bugs fixed:If the Fisio SB AddOn was installed, Daz Studio sometimes crashed when using other third-parties plugins or scripts (like UltraScatter Pro).
    • Bugs fixed:The saving of the correct names of data files fails when a simulation was initiated in a frame other than 0.

Known Issues

  • None
