Product Information

Special FX 3 is the last and biggest part of our Special FX product series for Daz Studio.

It contains an FX Base Prop with 25 different effect presets for Iray, and several additional props that can be used with another 25 different seamless effect presets for Iray. The seamless effects are also provided as Shader Presets for Iray that can be used with any suitable surface (needs to be Iray and UV-mapped).

Lots of tweaking options, like luminance strength, opacity strength, and tiling options are included as well.

Besides this, you can of course adjust any setting in the surface tab manually to suit your needs.

Since the base is a simple prop it can be freely scaled, rotated, and translated within your scene. That makes it as flexible as possible. However, each prop comes with some basic adjustment controls.

Special FX 3 is the perfect add-on for your fantasy and Sci-Fi scenes.

Due to the flexibility of using props and the Shader Presets that can be used with any Iray surface, you have lots of possibilities for effects. Small effects, area effects, or bigger environmental effects.

This product works with Iray only.

Additional Details

  • Special FX 3 for Daz Studio ReadMe *
    • To apply any materials or options, you need to select the prop in the scene you want to apply preset(s) to.
    • For the Shader Presets the object plus the surface(s) need to be selected.
    • Depending on what surface/object you are using, the effects may vary. Non Iray and non UV-Mapped objects will not work with the Shader Presets.
    • The actual effects with lighting are only visible in Iray Mode or the actual Iray Render.
    • The environment and lights you are using in the scene have influence on the effects as well. We suggest trying out different settings to achieve what you like. Generally, it is suggested to only have low environment lights since the effects are supposed to be light emitting effects.
    • Depending on the surface/object, the shader presets may have different results or might not be displayed seamless (for instance on character skin surfaces). Tiling and/or offset might need manual adjustments. 
    • To manually adjust the surface options please refer to the Daz Help for further instructions how to use the surface tab and it’s settings.
