Product Information

  • Required Products: None

Somewhat inaccurately derived from 'shapeless form', the Amorphozoas are a varied species found in the Chthon with a remarkable ability to blend into the environment. They use this ability primarily to ambush prey, but also to hide while digesting a meal.

With the profusion of subterranean civilizations, the amorphozoas have developed a good ability to even copy manufactured items, like chests, tables, benches, and a variety of walls and floors. Some enterprising denizens of the deep world will even place an amorphozoa in their treasure chambers, as a deterrent for would-be thieves.

While their disguises are not always perfect, in the gloom of the Chthonic world, in many cases the ruse is noticed too late.

Additional Details

  • The Disguise is a geoshell. Existing disguises will apply with a simple click. For included or other textures, select the Skin surface of the Disguise and apply there, then apply one of the Disguise Coverage materials.
  • Disguise Coverage converts to the Oso Iray Cutout 1×1 special shader; this shader forces Cutout Opacity to be strictly 1 tile by 1 tile.
  • This allows you to tile the texture as needed without affecting the edges and overall masking of the disguise.
  • While some textures have been provided, you can use any texture, though you may have to adjust tiling and offset to get the scale and look to work right. For example, if you have a rock texture that only covers part of the map, you might have to set tiling to .5 x .5 and adjust offset until it covers the figure properly.
  • The included textures have Displacement. In many cases you will want to shut off Displacement when used as a disguise (or the disguise might appear to 'hover' off of the creature).
  • There are a number of shapes and poses included. When applying a complex shape, like Chest, there may be a number of adjustments and other shapes applied. It can be useful to adjust those settings independently. (You may want to check See Hidden to access some of the dials)
  • For example, the Chest shape also dials in Withdraw All Limbs. To get an action where the chest is opening up and attacking a character, it can be useful to dial down some of the withdrawn limbs and move them accordingly.
  • There are many pose and shape dials to flatten, stretch, and move the creature around. The Spike and Boulder shapes are convenient when combined with flatten limbs or withdraw limbs for a variety of rock disguises.
  • The cilia can be added separately, and have a few dials to adjust their orientation.
