  • The Candy Dress and dForce
  • How to work with the Candy Dress and dForce?
  • The Candy Dress works very well in conforming poses but is dForce enabled. To get the desired effect when working with dForce, I suggest the following:
  • 1. A special dForce simulation preset is included in the product. You can also use your own dForce simulation presets, if desired.
  • If you want to set up a dForce simulation, please take the following steps:
  • 1. Load Genesis 9 into your scene; also load a plane primitive into your scene to act as a

collision object for the floor when you want to use sitting or lying poses.

  • 2. Make sure the plane has been subdivided.
  • 3. Apply the material preset that you want for the dress.
  • 4. Set up an animation with 61 frames (you can raise this value if you want the dress to settle and drape fully).
  • 5. In frame 1, set a keyframe (click on the little key icon with the plus symbol inside, to the far

right end of the bottom icon bar) with Genesis 9 in default pose and your freshly loaded simulation ready wearables preset.

  • 6. Go to frame 60, select a pose for Genesis 9.
  • 7. Go to the Simulation tab inside DAZ Studio and change the following default settings: Start Bones from Memorized Pose - OFF, Frames To Simulate: Animated (Use Timeline Play Range), Collision Mesh Resolution: Viewport
  • 8. Hit the “Simulate” Button!
  • Please make sure that there are NO intersections (pokethrough) between the individual pieces in frame 1 and your simulation end frame. This especially applies to shoes and the dress. It might sometimes be easier to hide the shoes and unhide it again after simulation to adjust the fit of the piece.
  • * Please note that due to the nature of the dress, it is not meant to use in extreme poses with dForce.
  • * Included is a Smoothing Morph that can be turned ON to create a smoother mesh but also to help with poke through if the dress is used for conforming poses or dForce.
  • * The buttons on the sleeves are Rigid Follow Nodes and can be scaled, hidden or moved. If they move out of place after a simulation, then use the gizmo to move them back in place.
