The Activity Layout is simply a container for the various interface elements that make up an Activity. It is responsible for maintaining the position, size, state, visibility, etc., of any Toolbar, Dock Area, Viewport, or Status Bar for any given activity.

Below is a list of interface elements that an Activity Layout can exist within:

• Main Window - the main window of the application
