Distant Light

Brickyard : Roots > Lights

Like a Spot Light, but at “infinite” distance. Often used to provide sun or other strong directional light across the entire scene.

Examples

  • The first example uses Ray Traced shadows. Adding a small amount of Blur to the Standard Shadows [Light] brick will eliminate the ridge lines.

  • The second example uses a Deep Shadow Map. Increase the number of samples in the Standard Shadows [Light] brick to reduce graininess. The faceted effect can be reduced somewhat by using Blur, but it may be better to use subdivision on the object.
