There is something about spiders, they seem to put people on edge. What about a Mech Spider? It depends I guess, what end of the programing you're on. But can they be trusted? The spiders, not the programers… well them too. I don't know if you are a programer, but this fellow has 3 different texture sets with optional looks for it's abdomen and that's 100% up to you. He also has 4 Size presets. I'm not claiming he can transform his size, but I'm not saying he can't.
