LI The Magic Rug is a modular construction, prop, and material asset system built around assets with unusual UVs that allow seamless textures to be used freely, without too much concern about visible seams. Every product in the range is designed to work together, forming a unified library of components that can be mixed, matched, and expanded over time.
Due to the broad spectrum of shapes and the process of making them as seamless as possible, textile density will vary; however, any applied material can be easily scaled to suit.
Seamless textures are fundamental to the system. Because of this, I’ve created a large library of images, shader presets, and opacity maps that form the backbone of the range. This makes it easy to retexture, customise, and refine assets without needing to rebuild them.
LI The Magic Rug - Shaders Forge
A vast and diverse set seamless textures back up by a ton of DAZ Iray Shader presets.
Some are just variations of the same textures in comninations, some are a mixture of textures from different sets….and this is just stracthing the surface ( lol another pun ) and what can be done by further combinations and mixtures and then, pair that with LI The Magic Rug - Retexurizer and you have at your disposal very diverse texturing system.
I've tried my best to make sure that the repetitive nature of these seamless textures are not too extreme and that they are designed to be scaled in either direction. On that not, there are some shaders like the metals with scratches that wont't look to natural at 1×1…but the intention is for these to be scaled small. That will also depend to the assets UV's….take a pipe for example. To make that seamless, the outcome was an automatic repetetive tiled nature to the UV and in caases like that reducing the tile scale might be necessary.
What I've tried to offer is diverlsity, flexibilty and a way to customise assets throught The Magic Rug product line.
NOTE:
To support this workflow, I’ve removed (with a few exceptions) tiling and opacity channels from all of these shader presets.
The are textures in here that I didn't even explore. A prime example of that is the Paper sets….could have gone down so many rabbit holes with that one. The four base textures though will be great for close up work.
