LI The Magic Rug is a modular construction, prop and material asset system built around assets with unusual UVs that allow seamless textures to be used freely, without too much concern about visible seams.
Every product in the range is designed to work together, creating a unified library of components that can be mixed, matched, and expanded over time. Due to the broad spectrum of shapes and the process of making them as seamless as possible, textile density will vary; however, any applied material can be easily scaled to match.
Seamless textures are fundamental to the system. Because of this, I’ve created a large library of images, shader presets, and opacity maps that form the backbone of the range, making it easy to retexture, customise, and refine assets without rebuilding them. This material foundation, combined with LI The Magic Rug – Retexturizer and LI The Magic Rug – Shader Presets, gives you strong control over surface detail while keeping everything organised in one place. Think of LI The Magic Rug like a well-stocked hardware store for digital builds — raw components, shared materials, and a system designed for growth and customisation.
LI The Magic Rug X - Construction & Prefab 100 01 builds upon out base foundation with a range of assets that suit 100mm wall thickness. It comes with a complete Prefabricated House Scene, that builds itself off many instances of the same asset that being said, the Doorway components are independent, meaning you can open any close any door without the others opening. This does mean though, if you want to changes the textures or materials you will need to do it for each unit. A good way to look at these prefabricated builds is like a coloring book. Use the DAZ Studio Surface Selection Tool to click on any surface, even an instance and it will take you to the primary asset. Actually, the Surface Selection Tool is extremely handy within the whole project.
NOTEs: The primary focus of these assets was to build internal scenes rather than external. Regarding promos, for the basic walls and doorways, I have used the same wall thickness to represent the assets design/size. When it comes to the Windows Glass and Frames they are accurate as they have the biggest variations. The individual assets in this product will load with their primary fundamental texture maps and material designed for seamless tiling. Assets precise sizes and origin points have been carefully considered for functionality within Dungeon Builder.
