“Real Rain Volume” is a full rain system built from real geometry, designed to give your renders the weight, atmosphere, and cinematic mood of an actual rainy day. Instead of relying on 2D planes ( so-called “billboards”), this pack delivers authentic, volumetric rainfall created in a 3d application - thousands of real raindrops will populate your moody render! This pack works especially well with (and was primarily designed for) HDRIs that feature a flat stretch of ground (like a town square, etc.) and soft, overcast lighting, letting the rain integrate seamlessly into the environment. But the rain volumes themselves are fully standalone and completely adaptable - place them in any exterior setting, night shots, cityscapes, sci-fi scenes, or anywhere your story calls for rain. Whether you're lighting a gritty cyberpunk alley, a moody forest path, or a dramatic character close-up, the rain volumes behave like practical effects in a real-world set. Three layers of rain work together to create a sense of depth while reacting to light sources (like car headlights). The included wet ground plane with an Iray puddle decal makes it effortless to ground your characters and props in the rainy weather. It blends seamlessly with the HDRI's ground thanks to an opacity “fade out” effect at the end. Real water splashes of varying sizes are scattered across a 20x20m surface to sell the illusion of rainfall hitting the environment. An atmospheric volume prop adds depth, diffusion, and that unmistakable rainy-day softness that unifies the whole scene. A singular raindrop ground splash is also included, should you want to randomize it yourself with products like UltraScatter. The product includes two “Quick-Start” presets that instantly load everything you need to convert your bland HDRi to an amazing rainy render, as well as a detailed PDF with full tutorial and documentation.
