The LI The Magic Rug is a large modular construction prop and shader system built around making an asset's UV as seamless as possible so materials can be shared and used across the product line. Mix, match, retexture, and expand using a foundational library of assets, textures, and preset functions. Along the way, a few offshoot creations branched away from the main process. These happy accidents didn't quite fit into the core system - but they were too fun, useful, or strange to ignore. Thus, Novelty Assets were born: quirky extras that still play nicely with the system, but exist purely because I wandered off the path… and refused to come back.
This one really is just a mixed bag.
The LI TMR N - Giant Glass Bottle 01 was the last asset added and turned out to be one of my favourite creations throughout the whole project. Simple but cool.
The LI TMR N - Shrinkwrap Bubble Ver 1 is not quite seamless, spheres are a PITA ;) But based on its use as a fabric dforce shrinkwrap bubble thingymabob…it works :)
The LI TMR N - Cube Levels are really just there for inspection and testing with displacement materials, though the Cubes would be really good for customizing dice.
Each face has its own Material Group at (4096×4096) and is geared for seamlessness.
The LI TMR N - Cube Crate LP Ver 1 was one ot those items I just wanted to follow through on. Great it you want to set up some sort of large-scale 'Minecraft' looking scene. Each side also has its own material group and shares textures.
The LI TMR N - The Sphere HP versions are just some experiments. I used LI TMR N - The Sphere HP - Ver 1 for my shader thumbnail throughout the project, and it looks really good with materials directly on.
NOTE: Across the whole product range, the primary surface name on each asset is: LI The Magic Rug - Metal There are some exceptions.
