LI The Magic Rug is a large modular construction prop and shading system built around making an asset’s UVs as seamless as possible, so materials can be shared and used across the entire product line. The system is designed to let you mix, match, retexture, and expand using a foundational library of assets, textures, and preset functions that all work together.
LI The Magic Rug X - Frames Rectangular 01 is a mixture of additional frames, borders, and glass panels. Like many of the assets throughout the project, I’ve done my best to carefully consider origin point placement. To keep things practical and multifunctional, the X Frames are laid flat facing up at world centre (top down viewing) with the origin point centered in the middle of geometry in most cases—though there are a few exceptions.
For the included Subsets, I started by creating a Null, with all assets parented and linked accordingly.
These assets are primarily geared toward building your own custom feature walls, windows or platforms.
The Skylight Subset and promo scenes are designed to showcase the seamless possibilities and demonstrate how assets can be combined and configured for a double sided affect.
NOTES: Across the whole product range, the primary surface name on each asset is: LI The Magic Rug - Metal There are some exceptions. At least 90% of the glass materials used across the The Magic Rug series are solid thickness manifold geometry with a double sided material group. LI The Magic Rug - Glass (with UVs and Normal facing forward) LI The Magic Rug - Glass Back (with UVs facing forward and Normals facing backwards) LI The Magic Rug X - Construction Shaders 01 is required for additional textures.
