Create seamless blends between skins and materials with FPE Skin Transitions for Genesis 9, a versatile utility pack designed to help you build unique hybrid looks directly inside DAZ Studio. Using a dedicated Geoshell Wearable and a large collection of opacity masks, this set allows you to quickly transition between two different textures worn by a single character. While the pack is designed primarily for blending skin, it can also be used with other Iray materials for more stylized results. To help push the concept further, we included a bonus Metallic Skin Preset available in 13 colors, along with an alternate specular variation for different finishes.

Built as a companion product to our Fantasy Skin sets and inspired by the structure of our Genesis 8 version, this pack works beautifully with most non-PBR skins and miscellaneous Iray materials in your library, opening the door to endless creative possibilities.

Because this system relies on opacity blending, there are some limitations when using shaders and tiled materials. For best results, keep tiling set to 1; otherwise, the masks may not align correctly. Materials that were not designed specifically for the Genesis 9 UVs may also produce visible seams. These limitations, along with setup guidance, are explained in the included Info Scripts.

It's also important to reiterate that only skins and materials using the DAZ Iray Uber Base Shader can be applied to the Geoshell, as the cutout opacity channel is required for the blending effect. Your underlying character skin, however, can still use the PBR Skin Shader.

1 Wearable Geoshell Preset, 5 Info Scripts, 13 Metallic Skin Materials, 70 LIE Mask Presets (11 Face Masks, 23 Lower Body Masks, and 36 Upper Body Masks), 4 Intensity Presets, and 5 Offset Presets for layered effects through shell stacking. Show characters altered by experimentation, cursed by magic, transformed by evolution, or born from the union of two entirely different races. Whether your character is partially corrupted, magically enhanced, or something entirely new, the story behind the skin is yours to tell.
