The Object Properties Palette

Introduction

The object properties palette, on top of the properties panel on the right side of your screen, regroups the properties of the selected object.

It has:

  • Object name: which can be changed by typing in the corresponding field.

  • Activating the symmetry mode and its different axes.

  • Activating smoothing and different smoothing ranges: in blue, the active ranges, in cyan, the already applied smoothing ranges.

  • Information about the number of vertices / edges / faces: These are for information only, and cannot be edited.

  • Object position: which can be modified, either with an absolute value (according to the 3D universe origin) or relative value.

  • Object size: which can be modified, either with an absolute value (real dimensions in space) and relative (resizing with a percentage).

  • Rotation: lets you enter an angle of rotation for your object, either with an absolute value (real dimensions in space) and relative (resizing with a percentage), for example to turn the object 90° around the Z axis.

  • Absolute/Relative mode: how the palette displays and edits the position and size information.

  • The operation performed at the current level of dynamic geometry, if any, represented by the corresponding tool icon (click on the icon to launch the tool and to re-edit the corresponding operation).
